Starbucks to Do Podcasting

Starbucks Brews Podcasting Plan

In addition to rolling out the old mermaid logo as part of the big 35th anniversary celebration, Starbucks are also planning on adding podcast. They are entitling them "Coffee Converstations" - other than knowing the name and that they are part of the 35th anniversary promotion, I have found out nothing more with regards to the actual content, but I do look forward to hearing more about the podcasts.

What is a Starbucks Salon?

Starbucks Salon

Recently I heard about Starbucks doing something called a Salon. Well after surfing the net, I found the website for the Starbucks Salon. I love the idea. I am blown away at how innovative Starbucks continues to be with regards to coffee and coffeehouses - I completely disagree that Starbucks is the end of the coffeehouse. In fact quite the contrary - it is what brought coffeehouses back, established a consumer base with coffee knowledge so that other coffeehouses could flourish and now with its "hear the music" and these Salons we see where coffeehouses are headed in the future.

Essentially a Starbucks Salon is a nomadic interactive coffeehouse, gallery and performance venue all rolled into one. The first one popped up at the Sundance Film Festival and this latest one is schedule to open up in New York City form September 8th until Sept 17th. Check it out.

Old Starbucks Mermaid Logo is back

komo news | Starbucks Siren Takes It All Off

Starbucks is celebrationg their 35th Anniversary - as part of that celebration they started to serve drinks with the original mermaid logo. However, according to this news article and audio report, the old logo will only be given out on hot drinks in Oregon and Washington Stores - and just for the next two months. I suggest getting online and getting some fellow collectors in that region to get some cups. They will be collectibles because it is being done on such a limited basis - even more limited than usual for Starbucks. At this point I have heard no other reports that Starbucks would be doing this in any other region.
